Picadillo Express

Ingredients

  • 1 kg ground lean beef
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 chopped white onion
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • cup red wine
  • 1 lemon
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 1 chopped spicy green pepper
  • 40 gr sliced green olives
  • 3 tbsp caper
  • 40 gr raisin
  • ½ tsp ground clove
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 20 gr almonds

Instructions

  • Peel tomato skin and cut into cubes
  • Cook the onion in the oil in a pan until see-through
  • Add garlic and meat and cook until greyish
  • Pour wine and lemon juice, lower heat and cook for 5 minutes
  • Add tomatoes, pepper, olives, capers, raisins and spices. Bring to a boil and lower heat
  • Bring to a boil and lower heat, cover the pan and cook for 90 minutes
  • If after this time the dish is still with a lot of liquid, remove lid and cook on high heat until part and reduce liquids for several minutes
  • add the almonds
